  1. You're right about the lamps. I tried bringing one in on move-in for me, and I couldn't bring in two of the lamps I bought. So a note to anyone, please don't waste your time, money, and energy on those things.

  2. I decided to look for one with a non-plastic lamp shade..I think that lights/lamps stuff like that make a room more home-ish and warm.

  3. Wait, no plastic lamp shades at all? Or was it an issue of having a halogen lamp that happened to have a plastic shade?

Does anyone know what the guidelines for desk lamps at UWM are? Or is it pretty much avoid halogen and your good?

  4. The rule is no halogen lamps OR lamps with plastic lamp shades. Both types are linked to severe fire hazards when left on too long, used with the wrong type of light bulb, having papers/other flammable material fall into them, etc. Sorry!

It was included in the "items not to bring" in the move in newsletter, and on the University Housing website.

  5. Just on the eyebrow things girls - Target sells eyebrow kits for about $6 and it includes 3 different stencils, tweezers, styling gel, and a brow pencil. I got one a few weeks ago and it's AWESOME. Just saying.
On a side note, I love your videos. You have such a personality. Way better than just watching someone staring at the camera looking like they're bored.

  6. Thanks Liz, I caught the no halogens part but I guess I missed the "or lamps w/plastic shades" part.

And I agree with Kayla, the personality makes it MUCH easier to watch than sitting and talking (boring) videos.

Tweezerman is good too, they'll sharpen for free for lifetime if you just send yours in to them.

  8. haha thanks kayla. I have tried to use eyebrow waxer things and it just never works for me. I cant ever seem to tweeze my eyebrows either..i dont know why haha. But these trimmer things take the hair away just like tweezing does so i would recommend them to anybody who doesn't like or cant do tweezing or waxing..like me :)

  11. Your hair cut makes you look very mature!

Hahah, nice selling point about the heels. "It's an investment in your future!"

I'm really glad you're excited. We're excited to have you move in! See you soon!
